Emma went in for her 2nd month check up and first round of shots today. Her weight today was 13lbs, 8.5oz and 24.25 inches. Doctor Kim gave her a oral vaccination for stomach flu and asked me to hold Emma's hands while he gave her the shots. I held her hands and we were talking and laughing. And the Doctor pokes her thigh, Emma looked at me all wide eyed, face red and in total shock. He pokes her 2 more times and Emma doesn't say anything, her mouth is still wide open. Doc tells her she has to breathe and she starts wailing away. She kept crying and tears were pouring. I couldn't console her, I just held her and walked around the office. We passed the bathroom and the exhaust was on, the noise from the exhaust calmed her down. I was able to put her back in her car seat, she sat there quiet and just stared at me. After a few minutes she fell asleep. We took car service back to Chinatown and she slept the whole way there. When she woke up in Chinatown, she was quiet, took her a day to get back to Miss Happy Emma. Most traumatic time of my life, and she has how many more rounds of this?!
Doc gave her the following shots:
1. DTP+Hep B+Polio
2. Hib
3. Pneumococcus
4. Rotavinos

Every two months she gets her updated shots until after.... 6 months? J is getting his updated shots in less than a week.
